Day Eight/Huit/Ocho - The Lourve, Arc De Triomphe

Arose at 6.30am to ensure we were at The Lourve bright and early. Again had the same breakfast as yesterday and was at The Lourve at 8.15am.

While we were waiting we took some photographs:
Robert and I - in front of the glass pyramids

The Lourve

When it opened, we made a beeline for the mona lisa,
and here she is..

Then spent a good part of a day browsing the many works and exhibitions on display.
Here are some pictures...

Our legs were killing us after the end and we were ready to have some lunch. We began our walk to the Arc de Triomphe whilst looking for some where to have lunch we witnessed some gypsies at work and fortunately for us we were not approached! We stopped at a cafe for lunch then continued down the Champs Elysee.

The Arc de Triomphe was now in good view and we had serious doubts that we were going to make it there. We decided to go up the top of it because our museum pass gained us access. We were at the entrance and next thing I knew I was commencing a stair climb of 284 steps!!!!!! I thought there was a fricken lift!!!!!! I had no idea that we had to wind up a narrow spiral staircase!

When we reached the top, it was well worth it! The views are fantastic!
Here are some pictures - It was a wee bit windy so mind the hair being all over the place, I nearly had an afro at the end of it

We were both not in a state to walk home so we decided to catch the bus. The bus took as all over Paris and it was nice to sit back and relax. We got off out the front of Galleries La Fayette and bought Robert's sister a birthday present!

Then back home and out for a late dinner.
